Travel Essentials

Since I'm about to embark on a trip, I thought that instead of packing, why not write a post about my travel essentials?

A versatile dress. Personally, I have had my fair share of moments where I've found myself not in the proper attire. While you're traveling, you never know when you might need to dress up a little bit, so it's definitely important to have at least one dressier or more formal outfit in your suitcase. Usually, a dressier day dress will do, because you can dress it up more formal by adding a some jewelry and deepening the intensity of your makeup. However, it's still nice to have a formal dress with you just in case.
An instant camera. This is a personal travel essential, not everyone has one of these cameras and not everyone finds it as vital for a trip as I do. It's so fun to snap pictures with these cameras and it's interesting to watch them develop. While traveling, there are so many photo opportunities where you can utilize this camera. If you're bringing an instant camera, remember to bring extra film! The last thing you want to do is run out of film, especially since you can really fly though it while on a trip.

Cameras and equipment. I'm aware that not everyone has an instant camera, and let's just be honest, as a blogger, cameras are one of the most important things for traveling. Even if you're not a blogger, there's no way that you can forget to bring a little memory maker. I'm bringing along my Olympus OM-D E-M10 Camera, but there are really all kinds of cameras out there. If you're not much of a photo connoisseur, there are camera lenses that you can attach to your phone for better quality and obviously, selfie sticks if you're that kind of person. Opting for something a bit more compact? I have the Canon S95 and it takes really nice pictures, especially for a camera of that size. In addition to that, you can't forget to bring extra memory cards! All of those pictures you're snapping can really add up.

Comfortable (but still nice) shoes. While you're doing some sightseeing, you'll likely be on your feet a lot. It's pretty difficult to find comfortable shoes that are great for walking that still look nice. I find that comfort shoes are usually not the most attractive. However, once you find a pair that has the best of both worlds, they're a keeper! If you can't find any comfortable shoes that are still fashionable, try picking a decently comfortable pair and buying some insoles to put in them, I did that for a trip to New York last year and it worked great.

A bathing suit. Depending on where you're going, a bathing suit may be more important or less important to your trip. Since I'm not really going to be at the beach, but mostly sightseeing a bathing suit will no be so essential for this specific trip, but it is an essential for beach vacations. I've been finding myself really loving the look of the Topshop bathing suits, so a lot of the ones I've featured are from there.

These are just a few of my travel essentials, but I'll be posting a more detailed blog post to do with packing on Wednesday, with my packing list for my trip as well as some packing tips. Don't fear, the travel posts are most definitely not over.
