Deck the Halls

Cue the first Christmas post of many! One of my favorite things about Christmas is the decorating. Ever since I was little, I've loved setting up the Christmas tree. It was such a fun thing to go through all the ornaments and place them around. I usually use a mix of ornaments, I use some simple round ones, but I also like to use some shaped ones.

After all these years of tree decorating, I've developed a routine. If you're using string lights around the tree, those go before the ribbon, but the tree that I have is an artificial one with lights attached to it. They switch colors, from classic yellow to rainbow. Since I don't have to add lights, ribbon goes first. Following that is the specialty ornaments, I have some that are shaped like snowmen, others that are stars, presents, glittery trees, etc. Then, I put the simple ones, traditional sphere shaped baubles. And lastly, the star

At the bottom of the tree, we put this cute little tree skirt as well as more Christmas lights. I just think that the snowmen and reindeer look super adorable underneath the tree, and it is also embellished with little snowflakes. Some years, we put a little train underneath the tree, except this year we opted for some lights instead.

Although my family doesn't use our stockings, except when there is a super small gift, we still like to put them up for decorative display. I've had mine for years, as long as I can remember. Mine is the one that has a stuffed reindeer head on top of it, wearing a Santa hat. I used to love it when I was younger, since I was obsessed with stuffed animals and this runs pretty close to one. We hang the stockings using these stocking holders with various Christmas themed things on them. One of them has Santa, another has snowflakes, then a present, and lastly a snowman.
