Gems and Plaid

I'll admit it, it has been cold and I have been lazy. But when you're cold and lazy, you can't really go wrong with a generally simple outfit. The thing about this look is that it looks put together, but it's so easy to pull together. I live for those kinds of outfits, the ones that make you look like you have your life together but are actually quite simple to throw on.

Statement Necklace

I originally purchased this top from Madewell for layering, but it's great on it's own as well. The nice thing about it is that it's super comfy and easy to throw on in the morning. I usually don't wear much plaid, but recently I have been more and more interested in it. With the top, I decided to wear a statement necklace over it. I have mentioned it countless times, but I love statement necklaces because they make an otherwise simple outfit appear classy and chic, but it really only takes a minute to put on before heading out the door. Yes, I could have worn just the plaid button down, but the necklace dresses it up so well! With the top and necklace, I opted for a fleece jacket. My school is absolutely freezing all the time and I get cold so easily, so it's important to bundle up. The jacket not only goes nicely with the outfit, but serves the purpose of keeping me warm, which I so dearly value.

Hunter Boots

With the look I decided to wear my Hunter boots. I have raved about these boots again and again and basically wear them all the time during the winter. The plus side of these boots is that they're waterproof, so the snow won't seep in, making them perfect for this time of the year. Boots are usually a safe choice for the snow, because they keep my feet dry. The downside of the boots is that they're rain boots and they're not necessarily made for freezing cold weather. That's why I wear knee high socks underneath them. I am actually not a fan of the Hunter socks because I'm not big on the design, so that's I wear knee high socks. With this outfit I wore a pair of maroon socks, mostly because they were right by the door, but they happened to match my look, which was perfect.
