Best of the Internet

Last week, I skipped a best of the internet post. I was starting to think about how these best of the internet posts are getting a little boring. While I love commemorating all this great content, there are some weeks where I find so many fantastic gems and other weeks where I really can't find anything that I feel is worth sharing. So this week is the start of something new. (I'm sorry, I just had to throw in that High School Musical reference)
Monday's posts are going to become the casual posting day. Wednesdays and Saturdays are usually proper posts that are well thought out and planned ahead of time, but I want to make Monday a day where I can add any kind of content. Cristina (Cristina Was Here) inspired me to get going more with YouTube. Obviously, YouTube is not my forte, but I'm probably going to throw in a video whenever I can on Mondays and best of the internet posts on the other Mondays. So today, I have the best of both worlds. (That reference was not intended, I promise, it was just a happy coincidence) Today I have a best of the internet post AND a YouTube video.

One // So You're Officially A Teen Blogger... Now What?

Cathleen (Classy Cathleen) shares her advice about blogging, specifically for teen bloggers that are just starting out. As another teen blogger, this post particularly resonated with me because I can relate with the struggle and the fear of what others would think about my blog. I wish that when I was first starting out, I had this advice, because it actually works!

Two // How to Up Your Instagram Fashion Game

Biggest question for beginning bloggers, "HOW DO SUCCESSFUL BLOGGERS TAKE SUCH NICE AND NATURAL OUTFIT PICTURES?!" The backgrounds are always perfect, the photography is beautiful, and the poses are natural, yet elegant. How does that even happen? Josie (Fashion Mumblr) shares some tips for how to take better outfit pictures for the blog or for Instagram. She covers everything from what to include to backgrounds to even a bit on posing.

Three // 7 Secrets of Confident People

For as long as I can remember, I've wanted to be confident. I want to be able to walk into a room and not care about what other people think about me and be totally comfortable in my own skin. However, that isn't always the case. Maxie McCoy guest posted on Carly's blog (The College Prepster) and wrote about the 7 secrets of confident people, because even the most confident people that we admire have their own secret weaknesses and strengths.

Four // Disposable Fashion

Hello, my name is Rebecca, and I am an outfit repeater. Shelby writes about how bloggers try to create this effortless picture perfect illusion that every outfit is polished to perfection and is never the same. Imagine the horror that would happen if people knew that you actually...  (gasp!) rewore the same outfit more than once! It's important to keep it real and authentic, not just about creating different glamorous outfits for every post.

Five // Everything Is Awful and I'm Not Okay: Questions to Ask Before Giving Up

Everybody has those days when things just aren't going the way that you wanted. Maybe it's just hopelessness because it seems like no matter what you do, you always fail, or maybe it's just sadness, because your life isn't what it could have been. However, before you give up, ask yourself these questions and see these quick little solutions. Whatever you do, remember that you're stronger than you think, so just keep your head up and wait until the storm passes.

And here's a video to start off this new thing going on with casual Mondays! I filmed this video during mid-winter break, so it was quite a while ago.
