Summer Patterns

Honestly, I don't know what has been up with the weather lately, but it has been hot. And when I say that it's hot, I'm serious, like 80 degrees and above. Because of this weather, I've been able to pull out the summer clothing. The thing is, summer is actually approaching scarily quickly. I'm not prepared for summer at all, in terms of things to do, finals, and not even outfits. I have been realizing that I'm lacking a lot of summer clothing, but this outfit is an exception.

Mixing prints can be a little scary, but I feel like this outfit works somehow. I paired this simple checkered shirt from Marshall's with a pair of bold patterned shorts. When I first found this shirt, I figured that it would be a nice comfortable shirt to wear around, since shirts of this type of material are always great to wear literally anywhere. Later, I was thinking that it actually looks very similar to the Madewell style, I found a similar shirt there, because of the minimalist pattern. The shorts are from H&M, the main reason that I purchased them was because they were on sale at the end of the summer, but they also fit me, which is always a challenge for me. They're high-waisted, which I never really realized that I liked until after I purchased them. Although they're a little different to match things with because of the loud pattern, I think that they go pretty well with this top. Lastly, I'm wearing my sandals with gems on them, which literally go with everything.

Also total sidenote, I got some flowers for my porch the other day and they're soooo pretty. Summer is looking like it's off to a bright start with these!
